Hooters waitress has shared the misconceptions people have about her because of her job.Brenda Perez, from Miami, Florida, has worked for the American restaurant chain for two years after applying out of sheer curiosity.The 23-year-old loves the role and the friendships that it's provided – she just hates that people judge her for it.Speaking exclusively to Daily Star, she said: “I think the most common misconception is that Hooters girls are airheads.“For some reason, people tend to think working at Hooters and being intelligent are mutually exclusive and yet my coworkers are some of the brightest people I’ve met.“Most of these girls are in school furthering their education and using Hooters to graduate debt-free.“Hooters is a great place to work when you’re young and finding your place in the world.”Brenda said she receives trolling online every time she posts about her job.“I usually don’t dignify trolling with a response because the basis of their jokes always revolves around questioning my sense of self-respect or my intelligence, two things which I’m not remotely insecure about,” she explained.“It’s hard to be offended when you know all their comments are solely based on my Hooters uniform.”Because of law school, Brenda is only able to work part-time, which is common at the establishment.The rest of her time is spent pouring over case briefs and going to the beach and gym.Before Brenda started working at Hooters, she’d heard rumours about the interview process.She was determined to find out whether they were true or not, particularly whether they make women walk up to a wall.
