An exciting web to weave. The expansion of Sony’s Spider-Man Universe continues with a new action-adventure flick with a female focus: Madame Web.

The results are in on the 2025 Razzie Awards where the year’s “worst” movies are recognized and awarded.

The Razzies honor the “worst” in movies every year and the nominations for the 2025 awards have been announced.

There’s a saying among filmmakers about comedy movies and that is you can’t keep them on the shelf for long or else they’ll go stale.

Variety in an interview published Friday and opened up about the reason why the Marvel film performed so poorly with both fans and critics. “Things work; things don’t work,” she said. “Everyone likes to act like they can predict if they’re going to work or they’re not.

S.J. Clarkson, the director of Madame Web, explains why the Spider-Women characters were not completely fleshed out in the film.

In a recent interview with EW, Madame Web star Dakota Johnson mentioned the experience of working on a film set working so much with blue and green screen saying, “I was like, ‘I don’t know if this is going to be good at all!” She said that because when you can’t see what’s happening, how do you know how it will turn out. If only she could have seen what I saw while watching this chaotic mess of a movie where the failure lies solely on the studio. Directed by S.J. Clarkson, and written by Clarkson, Matt Sazama, Burk Sharpless, and Claire Parker, the film stars Johnson, Sydney Sweeney, Isabela Merced, Celeste O’Connor, Tahar Rahim, Adam Scott, Emma Roberts, and Omar Epps.

The script, which McKay and Payne have rarely spoken about, featured Chris Hemsworth returning as George Kirk, father of Pine’s James Kirk. “I would love to tell you about it,” McKay told Esquire magazine, opening up in detail for the first time about the “Star Trek” movie never made. “We worked on a couple of ‘Star Trek’ movies. The one you’re asking about would have been the fourth in the franchise, reuniting Chris Hemsworth and Chris Pine. The conceit was that through a cosmic quirk in the ‘Star Trek’ world, they were the same age. It was going to be a grand father-son space adventure—think ‘Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade’ in space. We were really thrilled about it.”
