Sign up today for the best stories straight to your inboxTributes have been paid to a "gentle, loving" family man who died following an incident at a house in Cardiff.Dad-of-four Michael Gayle, 54, died at the scene of the alleged assault despite being helped by members of the public and the emergency services.A 50-year-old woman, who was seriously hurt, remains at the University Hospital of Wales in Cardiff with injuries that are not believed to be life-threatening.Officers were called to an address in Cypress Crescent in the St Mellons area of the city on Friday evening to reports of a serious assault.A 21-year-old man, who is known to the victims, was arrested on Newport Road a short time.
