A great white shark has been captured soaring to the highest breach ever recorded. The fearsome aquatic beast rose a full 15ft above the waves and was photographed at its peak.
The amazing shot was captured by shark expert Chris Fallows. He was filming off South Africa's Seal Island as part of a show in which experts attempted to capture the most dramatic shark breach.
The episode was part of the Discovery Channel’s ‘Air Jaws’ series, which has been running since 2001. Mr Fallows used a tow camera to get the shot, while others employed drones and night cameras. "They say a picture is worth a thousand words," he told the Evening Standard. "Well, that picture is worth a thousand breaches.
