Senior MP Angus MacNeil has called on the Government to prevent the proposed £300m takeover of Newcastle United by a Saudi-backed consortium.
The Magpies have been in negotiations for some time with the Amanda Staveley-led group, which also involves Saudi crown prince Mohammed Bin Salman.
The takeover would be a controversial one, however, with Saudi Arabia's TV piracy under investigation after claims from Qatar-based beIN Sports that they have been illegally showing matches via a pirate channel named beoutQ.
And after the World Trade Organisation ruled they had broken international law with regard to broadcasting, MacNeil, who is an SNP MP, wrote a letter to trade secretary Liz Truss.
