Government keen for Coronation Street and Emmerdale to resume filming 'as soon as possible'

Coronation Street and Emmerdale could be back on our screens sooner than thought, if the government have their way amid the fight against coronavirus.

According to ITV’s chief executive Carolyn McCall, as revealed in Broadcast, the government are hoping to have both ITV soaps filming again as soon as possible.

A plan is possibly being put together now, to ensure the safety of cast and crew through social distancing. It follows Australian soap Neighbours confirming they were resuming filming, with new steps in place to stick to social distancing restrictions.
