In August, Gorillaz premiered a brand new song called "New Gold" at London’s All Points East Festival. The track features Bootie Brown of The Pharcyde and Australian psychedelic rock stars Tame Impala, and quickly got fans of the virtual band very hyped.
Not only is "New Gold" officially out today, but Gorillaz have also announced a new album called Cracker Island It's out February 23, 2023. "New Gold" is one of those Gorillaz tracks where Damon Albarn's 2D character mostly takes a backseat in favor of the guests.
Shimmering Madchester vibes abound across the song with Tame Impala's Kevin Parker bringing his reliably gossamer vocals alongside a very Gorillaz-y verse from Booty Brown.
