Anas Sarwar has warned the clock is ticking on Tory and SNP governments in London and Edinburgh.Ahead of a speech to the UK party conference today, the Scottish Labour leader claimed only his party can build a coalition to replace the Tories in government.Sarwar said: “Across the country are anxious and angry, they want and need change.

To boot the Tories out, Labour must bring all of those who are bearing the brunt of Tory misrule together.”“Across Britain there is a majority, a majority of those who have borne the brunt of the politics of austerity and cuts that can sweep the Tories from power.”Ian Murray MP, the Shadow Scottish Secretary, is due to introduce Sarwar’s speech to conference on Monday afternoon which he will also use to turn fire on the SNP government’s record on health, education and public services. He said: “Last week we discovered that life expectancy has dropped again for a second year running.”“People are sick of the same old excuses and this SNP Government always looking for someone else or something else to blame.”“People are still getting the same inadequate answer from this Government - just wait.”“After fifteen years in government, Scots shouldn’t have to wait any longer for the SNP to do their job and fix our NHS.”He added: In Downing Street and Bute House they know the clock is ticking Together we can turn the tide and build the brighter tomorrow this country needs.”To sign up to the Daily Record Politics newsletter, click here.
