A fan was rushed to hospital after being badly injured in a vicious street brawl involving rival junior football supporters.
Violence erupted minutes after the Glasgow Perthshire v Kilbirnie Ladeside Scottish Junior Cup tie in Glasgow’s Possilpark on Saturday afternoon.
It is believed a 34-year-old man suffered a serious head injury after being hit by a thug wielding a hammer. Video footage showed a male lying injured on the road as people tried to help him.
Police are now trying to track down those responsible for the violence. Detectives stopped a bus with Kilbirnie fans and quizzed them before the supporters headed back to the Ayrshire town.
