Gordon Ramsay has opened up on losing his son Rocky after his wife Tana suffered a miscarriage in 2016. Gordon and Tana, who have been married for 26 years, are proud parents to Megan, 25, twins Holly and Jack, 23, Tilly, 21, and Oscar, four.
The Michelin starred chef, who is originally from Johnstone, opened up on the couple's heartbreak when Tana tragically suffered a miscarriage at 20 weeks.Speaking to PEOPLE, the Hell's Kitchen chef said: “There’s no book that guides you through that loss, and so losing Rocky was really tough.
Watching the trauma unfold, it’s this life-changing moment.”Honouring their late child, Gordon and Tana named their Cornwall home after Rocky, and each member of the family wears a piece of jewellery with his name on it.“We wouldn’t have had Oscar had we not lost Rocky,” says Ramsay. “There was no substitute — far from it — but it brought us a bond that you’d never experience in a normal situation.”"That's the power of Tana," he added. "Just watching the way that she dealt with it — and opened up with other friends and women in close proximity that could give advice — she was incredible straight after that."Gordon added that their children get their strength from Tana as he praised his resilient wife. "There's a lot of things that Tana's done, that we wouldn't be here today without that strength," he said.
Earlier this year, Tana shared a tribute to her family marking seven years since they lost Rocky. She wrote: "A happy picture taken of us celebrating Megan’s 18th, I was just under 20 weeks pregnant.
