Suffolk police attempted to stop the black BMW 116i at 7pm in London Road where it sped off and hit another car where a mum, dad and two young children were sat in.
The young girl in the parked up car suffered a serious head injury and was rushed to Addenbrooke's Hospital by ambulance for treatment.
A police spokesperson has described the young child's condition as critical after the BMW "fled the scene and ran off."The rest of the family including the girls younger sibling have all gone to hospital to be checked over.
