Police hunt for 'extremely dangerous' sex offender escaped from Lincolnshire open prison

sex offender, doing time for attempted rape and indecent assault, has fled from an open prison in Lincolnshire, and police fear he could be "anywhere in the country".Paul Robson, 56, was serving two life sentences at the HMP North Sea Camp in Boston after he broke into a 23-year-old woman's Oxford home via her cat flap and sexually assaulted her while holding a knife to her throat in 2000.The predator fled from the jail on the morning of Sunday, February 13, just before 7am, and police are on the hunt to capture the criminal, and have warned the public to be on the look out for him.Detective Chief Superintendent Andy Cox of Lincolnshire Police said: “We are urgently seeking the help of the public to find Paul Robson, who absconded from HMP North Sea Camp this morning."This man is a convicted rapist, serving a life sentence and is extremely dangerous."I believe he poses a real risk of causing significant harm to members of the community.“Whilst he absconded from a prison in Lincolnshire, by now he may be anywhere in the country and as such I encourage communities around the country to be mindful of this appeal."North Sea Camp is a Category D men's prison for prisoners coming to the end of their custody, and is focused on "providing a safe and educational environment where men can learn new skills to help them on release", reports LincolnshireLive.Robson, who is described as a white male of slim build, with a bald head and a long goatee, has a long history of sexually-motivated attacks on women and on girls as young as eight-years-old, and police have "deployed additional resources" to catch him.To stay up to date with all the latest news, make sure you sign up to one of our newsletters here.Detective Chief Superintendent.
