Gino D’Acampo has called out the Michelin Guide’s star system, branding it “absolute nonsense” and “absolutely c***”.The father-of-three, well known for his appearances on ITV’s This Morning, thinks that the world-famous grading system is a simple marketing ploy in an attempt to advertise to potential customers.
He told Cheshire Live: “I don’t believe in the Michelin star system. I think it is absolutely c***, because I cannot accept an organisation that knows less than me [can] judge me.”He continued: “Most of the Michelin stars are absolute nonsense.
It is the best marketing ever, but the worst idea ever, because if you think about it, you get judged by people who know less than you.”The chef made a comparison between cuisines and said that he wouldn’t accept someone judging his food if they aren’t well versed in that particular area.“I’ve been in Italian cuisine for 30 years.
