The Great British Bake Off’s infamous bread week was aired on Tuesday (5 October) night and saw Italian baker Giuseppe thrive.
Bakers were tasked with making a classic Italian focaccia, olive ciabatta bread sticks and milk bread. Jurgen has been crowned as the star baker for GBBO’s first two weeks, but Giuseppe stole his thunder after landing himself one of Paul Hollywood’s much sought-after handshakes, before later going on to be awarded star baker.
Undeniably, GBBO’s bread week is a ‘sink or swim’ moment for most bakers as they’re given just hours to create well-loved loaves, when they would usually give themselves days to do so.
