Outspoken GAA pundit Joe Brolly has branded his treatment by RTE when they cut off his mic during a debate on a united Ireland as both childish and embarrassing.
Brolly was shut down during a debate on the Claire Byrne Show when he accused the DUP of being homophobic and racist. The national broadcaster has revealed they received 95 emails and 32 calls, mainly offering negative feedback about Mr Brolly being cut off the live feed from the show, in addition to seven formal complaints.
Brolly told the Irish Independent the decision by RTE to silence him had been ‘grossly disrespectful and embarrassing’. ‘I thought it was grossly disrespectful to me, having asked me 20 times (to go on the show),’ he told the Irish Independent.
