RTÉ’s afternoon show, Today, is playing musical chairs with presenters with a host of female faces filling in for regular Maura Derrane.
Lotto presenter Sinéad Kennedy had been the reliable filler-in but she has just welcomed her first child and is currently enjoying some mammy-baby bonding time.
To fill the Maura void, RTÉ whisked Bláthnaid Treacy from Dublin to its Cork studio where the Today show is filmed. But Bláthnaid’s stint was brief with insiders telling the Irish Mail On Sunday’s Yours Confidentially that the viewers are partial to more ‘non-jackeen’ hosts.
