Emmerdale star Gemma Oaten has revealed she had a "scary day" after being admitted to hospital. The actress told fans on social media she is in "safe hands" after being rushed to hospital suffering with kidney problems, the Daily Mirror reports.
The 37-year-old posted a selfie from her hospital bed to Twitter over the weekend, captioning the photo: "In hospital and in safe hands.
Scary day. Signing off for sleep after more tests. Much love." Gemma, who appeared in the ITV soap from 2011 to 2015 in the role of Rachel Breckle, said she had tested positive for Covid but kidney issues had landed her in hospital.In a later tweet she added: "Hopefully I'll be able to go home in a few days.
I have Covid but this actually to do with my kidneys being in distress."Really scary but the NHS services have been a lifeline for me today.
