But now it has been revealed that Mel and Sue almost didn’t host the series in the first place! The women actually almost quit on the first day as they didn’t think it was a ‘kind show’ at the beginning. ‘We wanted to make it kind.
That was absolutely our number one priority and on day one we had quite a frank chat with the producers,’ Mel told Radio Times.
Sue went on to say: ‘We resigned, basically. Because it was not a kind show. They were pointing cameras in the bakers’ faces and making them cry and saying, “Tell us about your dead gran.”.’ She added
