Former Manchester United defender Marcos Rojo has been handed a five-match ban and issued with a $25,000 fine after his involvement in a tunnel brawl following Boca Juniors' controversial exit from the Copa Libertadores back in July.
Rojo, 31, grabbed a fire extinguisher off the wall amid a furious post-match clash as Boca stars clashed with opposition players after their defeat by Atletico Mineiro.
The last-16 tie at the Mineirao stadium ended goalless before Atletico went through 3-1 on penalties. However, Boca believed they had a legitimate goal ruled out for the second time in the tie, having also had a goal disallowed for offside after a long VAR check in the goalless first-leg.
