Arsenal star Mesut Ozil has been suspended by Turkish outfit Fenerbahce along with team-mate Ozan Tufan, the club announced on Thursday.
The 33-year-old left the Gunners in January 2021 after seven-and-a-half seasons in north London, having fallen out of favour under Unai Emery and Mikel Arteta.
He was later released from his reported £350,000-a-week contract in order to allow him to secure a free transfer to join the Super Lig side.
However, his move to Turkey has not entirely gone to plan. The German has scored nine goals and assisted two in 24 appearances in all competitions this season, but the playmaker has struggled with a back problem that kept him sidelined for seven games. And now, he has been suspended indefinitely after the club released a short statement to confirm their exile from the first-team squad.
