Arsenal are reportedly set to beat Liverpool and Barcelona to the signing of Cody Gakpo from PSV.The Dutch international looks to be on the move this summer, with some of Europe's biggest names said to be interested in him.
Gakpo, who operates either as a left winger or through the middle, is having an absolutely stellar season in the Eredivisie.The 22-year-old has scored 16 goals and made 15 assists in 37 appearances, alerting some of the world's biggest clubs to his attention.
But it's Arsenal who are in 'pole position' to land Gakpo, according to reports from the Netherlands.Voetbal International claim Gakpo is leaning towards the Gunners over Liverpool and Barcelona.
Mikel Arteta is expected to pick up at least one more attacker this summer with Alexandre Lacazette and Eddie Nketiah set to leave on a free transfer, following Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang's January departure.Gakpo's versatility would be a huge asset for Arteta, who can rotate the Dutchman with Gabriel Martinelli or Emile Smith Rowe on the left wing.
