The £63million release clause in Haaland’s contract that becomes active in the summer looks a steal given that he is a Ballon d’Or winner in waiting, but that may not be the case.BILD have revealed that signing Haaland could cost City over £300million overall.
That figure includes clauses, agent fees and an amount will also be paid to his father, Alfe-Inge Haaland – who enjoyed three years with City. The report adds that whoever signs Haaland will have to pay the release clause plus just over £8million in sporting-based successes.
Then an unbelievable £67m will be split between Haaland’s well-known agent Mino Raiola and Alfe-Inge. Real Madrid, Manchester United and Paris Saint-Germain have all previously been linked with Haaland and it could lead to a real bidding war over his wages to see who can attract the Dortmund star.
