Emmerdale bosses have revealed that the upcoming summer storylines will "push couples to breaking point".The couples embarking on big storylines include the likes of newlyweds Liv and Vinny, loved-up couple Sam and Lydia, and brother and sister duo Cain and Chas.Vinny Dingle and Liv Flaherty have been through a lot together in the short time that they've been together on the ITV soap, but more recently the pair ran off and got hitched in secret.Fans were relieved when the couple finally tied the knot after their rocky relationship, but could things be about to turn sour for the pair?Show producer Laura Shaw has spoken in a press conference about what's in store for the soap this summer, while lifting the lid on a surprise set to turn Vinny and Liv's lives "upside down".Speaking in the press conference she said: "So Liv and Vinny will get a big surprise, it's going to impact them hugely and turn their lives upside down a bit."Opening up about other couples, Laura went on to say: "Sam and Lydia will also have a big story that sees them having to pull together."She added: "I think the stories that are running through the summer are very much about strengthening some of our couples and seeing them fight for what they love.

As well as maybe pushing one or two others to breaking point."The producer spoke about how much-loved Dingle brother and sister duo Cain and Chas are set to "have a lot going on" this summer when they discover their mum Faith's secret.The secret is set to impact them greatly, with everything coming to a head in the moving storyline.Laura went on to open up about how they are about to shoot a "really special episode" involving Cain and Chas that made her cry.Speaking of the emotional episode she said it was.
