Elon Musk said that there could be 'slight delays' to his company's ambitious Starship project, as SpaceX will now prioritise 'cyber defence' after Russian hackers targeted its Starlink high-speed Internet service.
Starlink, which uses low-orbit satellites to beam ultrafast broadband to Earth, was activated in Ukraine after the country's government sent Elon Musk a personal request on Twitter.
This is to ensure that Ukrainians could still access the Internet during the Russian invasion.However, Starlink has since been targeted by Russian signal jamming technology which has knocked the Starlink terminals out of action for hours at a time across the country.In a series of tweets this weekend, Musk wrote: "SpaceX reprioritized to cyber defense & overcoming signal jamming.
Will cause slight delays in Starship & Starlink V2."He added: "Some Starlink terminals near conflict areas were being jammed for several hours at a time.
