A loophole in the Government's popular Eat Out to Help Out scheme has allowed diners to easily exploit eateries, it is claimed.

Some cheeky punters have been gaming the August dining discount introduced to boost struggling cafes, pubs and restaurants found a catch.

According to The Telegraph, diners have been attempting to order their meals in parts - enabling them to split the bill per head throughout their stay - then applying the discount with every fresh transaction.

The half-price discount has allowed savings of up to the value of £10 off food and non-alcoholic drinks at participating establishments from Mondays through Wednesdays.
