The Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) has issued new guidance for any benefits claimants asked to attend a Work Capability Assessment, Industrial Injuries Disablement Benefit and Personal Independence Payment consultation in-person.

The DWP and assessment providers have put a range of measures in place to ensure that face-to-face health benefit assessments can take place safely while following government health and safety guidelines put in place due to coronavirus.

The new guide on GOV.UK includes information on what to do before the assessment, who you can bring with you, face coverings, the assessment centre, what to expect during the assessment, leaving the assessment centre and contact tracing.
