Dean Smith reckons two deals pulled off in the January transfer window could save Aston Villa's season. The Villans are 19th in the Premier League and are nervously staring at the drop after getting promoted last season.
After making it to the top tier via the Championship play-offs, they spent an eye-watering £134m. It saw the arrival of players such as Wesley Moraes, Douglas Luiz and Tyrone Mings.
However, their fortunes have not quite come off with the effect that the Villa Park supremos might quite have liked. But Smith reckons the latest arrivals have enough about them to see the Birmingham-based side remain in the Premier League this season.
