UFC President Dana White has confirmed that plans to build a Fight Island that will allow fight to continue amid the coronavirus pandemic are underway.

The news came after White also confirmed that UFC 249 and all other events in the sport had been postponed immediately. Khabib Nurmagomedov was set to face Tony Ferguson in the main event on April 18 in Brooklyn but this was never going to happen as COVID-19 took hold.

White then promised that the event would go on at an undisclosed location, teasing multiple times that he had secured a private island to host UFC cards.

The Tachi Palace Casino Resort had been earmarked as a possible location as White looks to beat widespread federal and state guidelines against holding large gatherings.
