Cycling champ Mark Cavendish has £25k attack dog to protect him and model wife

The masked gang burst into Mark's house while he was recovering from serious injuries suffered in a race crash.The Olympic silver medallist had been in intensive care after suffering two broken ribs and a collapsed lung in Belgium on November 21.
Detectives said the raid a week later was targeted as thieves knew Cavendish, 36, was just out of hospital and could not put up a struggle.The gang fled with two pricey watches and a Louis Vuitton suitcase in the early morning swoop on the family’s home in Essex.
Neither Cavendish, 36, nor his 35-year-old wife were badly hurt but their children watched in terror.Mark said: "No-one should have to experience the sort of violence and threats made against us, let alone this happening in a family home where everyone should feel safe."This incident has left our family extremely distressed - not just myself and Peta but our children as well, who feared for their lives and are now struggling with the after-effects.
