'Covid has clearly not gone away': Tameside health chief fears a rise in cases among 'more vulnerable over-40s' as borough's rates spike

Recording a rate of 417.0 cases per 100,000 people in the week ending August 28, the area is currently number 19 on the list of places nationally with the highest rate of infection.

Cases are also rising week-on-week in four other Greater Manchester boroughs, but the numbers aren’t nearly as high.
