Coronavirus: Swimming pools, libraries and council service centres close as shutdown ramps up

All swimming pools and libraries will close in South Ayrshire from today as the lockdown continues over coronavirus fears. The council has already shut all customer service centres, including the Wallace Tower in Ayr and those in Girvan, Maybole, Prestwick and Troon.

Golf and bowling green club houses are also locked up but greens will still be maintained and available for use. In addition museums and galleries will shut from today.

South Ayrshire Council asked residents who need to get in touch with customer service centres to telephone 0300 123 0900 or go to the council website.

The customer centres deal with benefit issues,  council tax, housing and a wide range of other enquiries. The Kyle Street Housing Option Office and Riverside
