Five new coronavirus hotspots have tonight been revealed as Public Health England announces the 10 areas most at risk of being placed into local lockdown.
Leicester remains top, but Pendle, Herefordshire, Oaby and Wigston, East Staffordshire and Luton have been added anew today.
The 10 towns and cities most at risk of local lockdown, in order of most confirmed cases per 100,000, are; Leicester, Pendle, Blackburn/Darwen, Herefordshire, Bradford, Oadby and Wigston, Rochdale, Peterborough, East Staffordshire, and Luton.
Leicester was the first city to enter a local lockdown after there were 99.7 confirmed cases per 100,000 in the week up to July 13.
