Coronation Street viewers have witnessed many scandals on the Weatherfield cobbles since the soap began in 1960.From murders to affairs, to false accusations and jail time, many characters have been embroiled in some of the biggest scandals to have played out in the soap.However, life away from the cobbles has been just as scandalous for some of the stars of the popular ITV programme too.In recent years, Coronation Street has been rocked as some of its cast members have become involved in huge scandals including vile outbursts, drunken behaviour and lying about their age.Here, Daily Star takes a look at some the stars involved in some of Coronation Street's real life scandals.Bruno Langley joined Coronation Street in 2001 as Eileen Grimshaw's son Todd, becoming involved in huge storylines including scamming the residents of Weatherfield alongside Pat Phelan.However, his time on the cobbles came to an end after accusations of sexual assault at a Manchester nightclub.Following the accusations, Bruno's contract was terminated, with an ITV spokesperson saying: "Bruno Langley is no longer contracted to Coronation Street."The actor later pleaded guilty to two counts of sexual assault at Manchester Magistrates Court, and was given a 12 month community order, 12 weeks on an electronically monitored curfew and 40 days of rehabilitation.He was also ordered to sign the sex offenders register for five years.Bruce Jones played soap icon Les Battersby in Coronation Street.However, the actor was sacked in 2007 after he was accused of making insulting comments about the soap on a night out.It is also reported that he got drunk and and spilled Coronation Street plotlines to undercover reporters, although this has never been confirmed.Les.
