CORONATION Street fans have been left horrified after seeing actor Daniel Brocklebank share dangerous anti-vaxx rants on Twitter.
The 42-year-old - who plays vicar Billy Mayhew in the ITV soap - has retweeted misinformation, liked tweets from anti-vaxx and anti-lockdown campaigners and called for SAGE scientists to be arrested. “I was so shocked,” a fan of the ITV soap told The Sun. “He’s always come across as a reasonable guy on social media but I’ve had to unfollow him after this.” Another fan complained to Corrie bosses on Twitter, saying: “Isn’t it even a little bit concerning to you that Daniel Brocklebank aka vicar Billy is retweeting alt right accounts and encouraging people to ignore the mainstream media?” Daniel, who joined Coronation Street in 2014 to play gay vicar Billy, previously took to social media to complain about the effect of the pandemic on the ITV soap, saying he found lockdown “horrific”.
ITV has been approached for comment. Health officials have repeatedly said.Covid jabs protect against Omicron and offer the best chance to get through the pandemic.
