Coronation Street's Christmas Day episode this year could be a special one-off standalone should the rules surrounding the coronavirus lockdown tighten up again.Soap boss Iain MacLeod has revealed that, hopefully, that won't be the case and isn't currently the plan, but there are options available should they need to rush a quick fix onto screens in time for the big day.Speaking to Daily Star Online as it was announced that Corrie would return to six weekly episodes, Iain revealed all about this year's festivities.He told us: "[A standalone episode] is an idea that's still there as a contingency measure should we need it."At the moment, and I don't want to jinx things too much because we all know the situation internationally and nationally.
