Boris Johnson has ignored pleas to remain in Glasgow to fight to secure a deal at the COP26 climate conference. The Prime Minister travelled from London for a day yesterday to get an update from negotiators about the ongoing discussions.
First Minister Nicola Sturgeon and Labour MP Ed Miliband called on Johnson to knock heads together at the United Nations summit in order to get a deal across the final before the end of Friday.
Meanwhile, COP President Alok Sharma revealed in a press conference that he was "hopeful" the conference would end on Friday, however hours later Johnson said it could easily go on to Sunday evening.
