It was Mcgregor's second straight loss to the American, and his third in four UFC fights.'The Notorious' has been adamant he won't be rushing his rehabilitation, but during his absence, his comeback fight has been the source of constant speculation.

A fourth fight with Poirier, or a trilogy bout with Nate Diaz, were perceived as the most likely options - but the Dubliner has also been called out by fighters from other combat sports.YouTuber turned boxer Jake Paul has repeatedly taken digs, while Muay Thai kickboxer Superbon Banchamek has also proposed a cross-rules bout.

Given McGregor has two fights left on his current UFC contract though, the prospect of either notion seems unlikely.Indeed, the iconic Irishman recently revealed ambitious plans for his return fight to be a tilt at becoming a three-weight world champion - by taking on Kamara Usman.
