A punter called Tom Nutt cleaned up yesterday by winning £2,625 with a £5 bet. The shopfitter scooped a 524/1 treble he placed three months ago.
Tom, 27, vowed to blow his jackpot on a “p***-up with the lads”. The bet came in when 4/1 third favourite Samcro won his race on St Patrick’s Day at the festival.
The other two winners were 14/1 Ferny Hollow on Wednesday and Sir Alex Ferguson’s horse Clan Des Obeaux at 4/1 on Boxing Day.
Tom, of Uttoxeter, Staffs, said: “I was calm, but I must say my a**e was going when Samcro started wandering in front. “I plan on spending the winnings on Rory Mcllroy winning the US Masters and the rest on a p***-up with the lads for the Midlands National in Uttoxeter.
