Chelsea bidder Sir Jim Ratcliffe owns a super-yacht worth over £100million that includes its own helipad. The Greater Manchester-born businessman, 69, has made a last-ditch attempt to purchase the Blues from its current owner, Russian oligarch Roman Abramovich.
It is reported via The Times that the Brit has submitted a bid believed to be around £4billion - and £1.75billion of which will be used to build a stadium and bolster the side, although it now appears Los Angeles Dodgers co-owner Todd Boehly has won the race.Ratcliffe told the publication: “We put an offer in this morning.
We are the only British bid. Our motives are simply to try and create a very fine club in London. We have no profit motive because we make our money in other ways.” Ratcliffe, a petrochemicals tycoon, has a net worth of around £12billion.
And so it’s no surprise that, as well as trying to buy Premier League clubs, he lives a very lavish lifestyle. His super-yacht - the Hampshire II, which is valued at around £130million - features six large cabins, enough space for up to 14 guests to sleep, a swimming pool, a helipad that doubles as a sports court, a Jacuzzi, a sauna, and even a cinema, according to The Sun.He also has four private jets and is an avid lover of Land Rover Defenders.
