The musician responsible for popular dance song 'Cha-Cha Slide' has died at 58-years-old. DJ Casper, born Willie Perry Jr, was diagnosed with kidney and liver cancer in 2016 and sadly passed away due to the illness on Monday (August 7) .
Perry was famous for his world wide smash hit song which he released in 1998. Perry, from Chicago, had created the tune as a workout song for his cousin, who was a personal trainer.
The lyrics of the song, which is widely popular at weddings, sports events and hall parties, sees Perry give simple dance instructions for the listener to follow over a jazzy groove and a famous salsa break.
