Cat becomes internet star after interrupting weather forecast from home

A cat has shot to internet stardom and become the famed "weathercat" after interrupting her owner's live forecast at home. Jeff Lyons is the chief meteorologist at NBC's affiliated news channel, 14 News, in Indiana, US, and he has been working from home amid the coronavirus crisis.

While he has been filming the weather segment for the show, his cat, Betty, stole the spotlight and refused to get out of the green screen.

Jeff, who has worked 34 years for the station, decided to let Betty to be part of the show. Excerpts of the segment showed Jeff holding the long-haired feline in his arms while trying to explain the seven-day forecast.
