Bundesliga chief makes astonishing closed doors prediction as German football enforces bankruptcy rule change

Bundesliga Chief Executive Christian Seifert has admitted there's a possibility that games might not be played in front of spectators for the rest of the year.The top man in German league football is desperate to fulfill his organisation's highly valuable TV rights which are worth hundreds of millions of euros.

While the deal is so profitable that it means filling stadiums is less important to it's clubs than having games televised, the leagues in smaller countries like our own Premiership would be in deep financial trouble should they face the same outcome.

The DFL has now moved to extend it's suspension of games until April 30th and is beginning to assess ways it can complete games without fans present as the coronavirus crisis
