British Gas has become the first supplier to offer customers discounted energy prices on Sundays. The new PeakSave scheme, which is being trialed by more than 150,000 customers, starts on Sunday April 30.
Its aim is to help reduce emissions during peak weekday evenings. British Gas customers who have signed up for the test event will get half price electricity from 11am until 4pm.
There is no obligation to make any changes to normal routine, although if customers are able to shift regular activities such as washing, cleaning, charging or cooking they could save on their energy bill.
