Britain's coronavirus-struck businesses face billions of pounds in new costs in customs declarations under border arrangements after Brexit.
Despite battling for survival in the wake of the coronavirus, it has emerged businesses could end up spending up to £13billion on customs declarations when the transition period with the EU ends.
From January, traders importing everything from clothes to electronics will need to complete customs declarations. Michael Gove outlined the new customs regime to MPs in Parliament, with a separate set-up due to be confirmed for Northern Ireland later this summer.
