Brenda Edwards has launched a new trust in her late son Jamal’s honour. Today, Monday 20 February, marks the first anniversary of Jamal’s untimely death. The music pioneer was just 31.
His cause of death was later revealed to be cardiac arrest, which was said to be caused after ingesting a lethal mixture of cocaine and alcohol.
Before his passing, Jamal worked a lot with young people and was an ambassador for The Prince’s Trust. With his charitable nature in mind, 53 year old Loose Women star Brenda has now launched The Jamal Edwards Self Belief Trust to honour Jamal's work.
Announcing the news on social media, Brenda penned: “Self Belief is my baby Jamal’s Mantra, this post is dedicated to my baby it’s been 1 year and yet it still feels like yesterday. “I thank you for continuing to inspire me daily and for helping me to get my dreams together… this has been nearly two years in the making.” As per the Trust’s website, the objective of the charitable organisation is to “support those causes that mattered the most to Jamal”.
