The man's body was sadly discovered in Ashton Canal Park in Miles Platting at around 2.30pm yesterday (Saturday). Police were initially called to the scene to a 'report of a concern for welfare'.
Emergency services attended and found the body of a man. There are not believed to be any suspicious circumstances surrounding his death, police said.
There was a large emergency services presence at the scene yesterday afternoon. Pictures showed several police and ambulance vehicles at the scene off Upper Helena Street.
