A little boy who captured the nation’s hearts as he struggled against terminal cancer without ever losing his smile has died.
Stanley Dalton was flown to Singapore last year in a desperate bid to cure his T-cell acute lymphoblastic leukaemia. Donors raised over £500,000 for the trip in a matter of weeks after medics here said they could do no more for the brave three-year-old.
The pioneering therapy he would get had already saved another British child. And Stan’s mum Georgia Brecken and dad Lee Dalton were optimistic the treatment would work for their lad.
The Sunday People told on our front page in December how it wiped out almost all of Stan’s cancer and after months overseas he was back home for Christmas.
