Boris Johnson's new race review in the wake of the Black Lives Matter protests will not just look at racism towards BAME people, the PM's office confirmed today.
Despite being named the Commission on Race and Ethnic Disparities, the body will also look at "other, wider inequalities" in society.
That will include, for example, the plight of white working-class boys who fall behind in school. No10 unveiled details after the commission was branded a "back of a fag packet" response to the protests gripping the UK in the wake of George Floyd's death at the hands of US police.
Mr Johnson announced the commission's existence briefly in an article arguing slave traders' statues, and a statue of Winston Churchill, should not be taken down.
