She gained media attention in 2016, when she uploaded the song "Ocean Eyes" on SoundCloud, subsequently released by Darkroom and Interscope Records. "Ocean Eyes" was written and produced by her brother Finneas, with whom she collaborates on music and live shows. Eilish's debut EP, Don't Smile at Me (2017), reached the top 15 in the US, UK, Canada and Australia.

Rihanna, Billie Eilish and Justin Bieber are among the a-list celebrities who have signed an open letter calling for police reform. The musicians have banded together along with record labels such as Sony Music Group, Warner Music Group and Universal Music Group in support of Congress’ Justice in Policing Act of 2020.

Mariah Carey, Lizzo, Ariana Grande, the Jonas Brothers, Meek Mill, Post Malone, Grimes, Hailey Bieber and Megan Thee Stallion are among the other high-profile stars throwing weight behind the campaign.

It was sparked after the tragic death of George Floyd, who died last month after a white police officer knelt on his neck for almost nine minutes during an arrest.
