Biker seriously injured and driver hurt after horror A90 van smash which sparked 10 hour road closure

horror smash with a van on the A90. Emergency services were called to the scene near Laurencekirk, Aberdeenshire, at around 2.10pm on Friday, July 2.

A BMW R NineT motorbike and a white Fiat Fiorino van crashed on the northbound carriageway at the junction with the A937. Police and paramedics attended before the 46-year-old biker was taken to the Aberdeen Royal Infirmary for treatment.

The van driver, a 53-year-old, also suffered minor injuries and required medical treatment. The road was closed for around 10 hours to allow for a full accident investigation to take place.

Officers are now appealing for anyone with information or dashcam footage to come forward. Sergeant Craig McNeill, of Police Scotland’s Road Policing Unit, said: “A man.
